OUR HISTORY

The history of the Hotel Miramar Mallorca dates back to the beginning of the XX century when Antoni Borras, son of a fisherman’s family from the Port de Pollença, emigrated To Argentina. After working many years in the residence of the president of the country,he came back to his home town and decided to give the Puerto Pollenca all the splendor of Buenos Aires and managed to do it.

Together with his wife, Francisca Martinez, he opened a grocery store and a small inn with very few rooms. This is how the Hotel Miramar was born and later its owners became some of the first and most emblematic hoteliers of Pollença which in 1930 was the area of Mallorca with the most hotels on the Island.

The Hotel Miramar Mallorca soon became the place to be in Pollença for a nurtured group of artists led by the prestigious painter Hermenegildo Anglada Camarasa and the terrace from the Hotel with its spectacular views over the bay of Pollença became one of the meeting points in the area.

Today, the Hotel Miramar Mallorca continues to be run by the fourth generation of the family who founded it and in 1986 they were granted The National Tourist Merit Medal in recognition of their magnificent work of promoting quality tourism in the Port de Pollença.
